Our work is to spread awareness about the rich culture and history of Meiteis in Bangladesh, derived directly from Manipur state. By "promoting" our culture to the next level, we aim purely to share and educate others about our heritage, rather than expecting other communities to adopt it.
We are creating unprecedented digital avenues for traditional folk songs (khunung ishei) and dances (jagois), showcasing them on platforms that Bangladeshi Meiteis have yet to fully discover.
At "Eikhoigi Puwari" (Our History), we ensure the legendary tales and historical milestones of the Meitei people are archived and celebrated in the modern digital landscape.
We depend on our youngest generation. As children participate, we share their journeys. They play the most vital roles in our mission, and we dedicate this platform to the young people who will carry our heritage forward.
Pena Phamshak is an ancient Manipuri storytelling art form where a musician sings epic narratives while playing the Pena, a traditional bowed, mono-stringed instrument.
Performed in a sitting position, it features a unique blend of vocal music, storytelling, and rhythmic bowing to narrate legendary tales like Khamba-Thoibi. It plays a vital role in preserving Manipuri cultural history.
Alongside this, we are proud to digitize and preserve Pena Yakairol and other traditional expressions.
Many of these traditional forms have remained undiscovered by the broader digital world. We are here to change that.
The Problem: In Bangladesh, there is a severe lack of social network coverage regarding Meitei music distribution. Interested artists often don't know where to publish, how to navigate the complex research, or are deterred by the high annual fees required to get their music onto major streaming platforms and social media networks.
Our Solution: We won't let financial barriers or lack of know-how silence our culture. Eikhoigi Puwari pays the annual fees. You simply send us your folk songs, music, or sheihous, and as a courtesy to the Meitei people, we distribute your art to over 150+ streaming platforms for free.
How it works: We require a digital signature from the artist permitting us to distribute the work to designated platforms. We handle the heavy lifting; you keep creating.
Our platform will be the center for digital cultural initiatives. While we finalize our startup documents, framework designs, and internal/external operational protocols, our premium service is ready to discuss.
